SunaCosu: Entertaining Expert Cosplay Panels!

SunaCosu has evolved into a group dedicated to sharing knowledge and ideas for costuming and alternative fashions. We believe that in costuming, there are always new techniques to learn and creative inspiration to be found! Our goal is promote excellence and friendships in the Arizona costume community and beyond. We also like to keep our panels interesting and entertaining and strive to make them as visual and hands on as possible.

SunaCosu has hosted panels and various other events at several local conventions, and even been invited as guests. We also occasionally sponsor our own events outside of conventions such as workshops, parties, and photoshoots.


In Japanese, our name means desert or sand (Suna) and costume (Cosu). Thank you to SpookyElectric for suggesting the appropriate name for a costume group in the desert!

Oct. 11, 2010 - A Successful SabotenCon

Thank you to everyone who came to our panels at SabotenCon 2010. This was the most panels we have ever done at one convention, and they were very successful! We apologize that we may have not been able to get to every question as there were so many and time was limited. On another note, Mikoto, NyuNyu, Fuu, and Taylor also took home Best of Show in the masquerade with their Tsubasa skit!

Jun. 6, 2010 - We're back from back to back cons!

SunaCosu staff had a busy weekend with Phoenix Comicon and Anime Kaigi back to back! Thank you to everyone who helped make these events happen and everyone who attended our panels and J-fashion show! Aside from being invited as guests, SunaCosu staff members also took home some awards from the Phoenix Comicon masquerade! Fuu, Kisa, and Taylor won Best Master with their Teen Titans skit and NyuNyu won a Judge's award with her Magic Knight Rayearth walk on!
