We had a great meeting with a very knowledgeable corset demo and boot cover demo. Both demos were a big success and everyone who attended came out much smarter
After the demos we had a public meeting and here are the topics discussed. If I missed anything or you have any questions about what transpired, please ask below.

Group Projects:

Our steampunk photoshoot was a great success. We had a nice sized group and a lot of photos to sort through. If you didn't get to attend the shoot, don't worry! We aren't through with steampunk just yet so keep watch for future events that involve steampunk.

Gijinka Pokemon- There has been some growing interest in the Gijinka pokemon group cosplay. We are hoping to get more people involved and get it together for Saboten. The great thing about pokemon is you can design your own, use one of the pics or combine your own ideas with the pics. Your costume can be simple or elaborate. It's a great idea so please join us in making this group event happen.

Pirate Group- We were thinking of getting a pirate group done for Renn Faire next year. This can be pirate lolita as well (of course I asked). If we decided to do this group we would need to start working on costumes by this summer. So keep an eye out for more about pirates ARRRRRR.

Fighting Game- This was suggested at the meeting- there is a great variety of characters in fighting games and great photo shoot ideas as well. So, you may see this event pop up soon as well.

Upcoming Events:

Mega Animefest- April 11th Easter Weekend- Sunacosu will be hosting Iron Cosplay and Anime Pictionary. There will also be a video game tournament hosted by AZHP, a masquerade hosted by Cosplay Zone and a lolita tea party and BJD get together. It will be from 10 am to close.

Costumers BBQ Mixer- April 26th- Sunacosu will be hosting a little game here, and there will be many costumers getting together, eating and talking and sharing ideas. You can come in costume, but be prepared for it to be warm and be prepared for BBQ sauce!

Costume Con- May 1-4 in Baltimore, Maryland- it's not local but if you are a hard core costumer this is the event for you. Our VP will be attending this amazing convention and we hope she comes back with some amazing pictures to share.

Saboten Con- Oct 30-Nov 1 Halloween Weekend- Sunacosu will be hosting some panels and events at the con so keep checking the forum to see what is finalized. We can always use more volunteers for these events so please feel free to offer your help. So far we are hoping to have a lolita 101, a jfashion panel, a props panel, and maybe a cosplay 101 or wigs panel- we would like to offer some more specialized demo panels.

Future Event Suggestions-

group get togethers, with or without costumes-bowling, laser tag, game/movie nights, arcades, ice/roller skating, museum/ aquarium trips, Halloween party!
The Halloween party still needs a location where more people can fit comfortably. We are still deciding a date for this that will not conflict with Sabo. But since there is Sabo- there is NO EXCUSE for you to not wear a costume- so come prepared to have some halloween fun.

Website Fixes and features- please let us know if you find any quirks with the website since it has been tweaked. We need your feedback to make sure everything is running smoothly. Our forum has a new color (red) and we are working on a list of resources and list of event definitions so you can easily figure out what we're talking about when we say "iron cosplay," "Anime pictionary" or the "who am I game."

Feedback/Concerns/ Ideas

Donations- I know no one likes to talk about it but we are still looking for donations. If you can't spare any change then please think about donating supplies. We can always use scissors, ducktape, fabric (more then a yard) craft foam and paper towel rolls for iron cosplay. It doesn't cost anything to save your paper towel rolls, so please help Sunacosu by giving us stuff you wouldn't use anyway

We also need decorations for our Halloween party- so if you have anything you don't use or never used and don't plan on using, please let us know.

Some great suggestions for future events were a fairy costume party, a victorian tea party and some j-fashion/historical fashion get togethers.

We also plan on having a laptop with an internet connection at the next meeting so we can show people how to navigate our website. We know that not all of our members are computer saavy, so we'd like to help you navigate through our website with ease.
